Today we mark the yahrzeit of the Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka ע״ה. On this day, as always, each of us seeks a meaningful way to honor her memory and perpetuate her legacy. As Monsey Beis Chaya Mushka is the only mosad in Monsey bearing the Rebbetzin’s name, we respectfully encourage and appeal to you to contribute in her memory, in accordance with the Rebbe’s guidance as expressed in the sicha quoted below.

 

Here is a quote from a Sicha of the Rebbe on שבת פרשת יתרו - כ"ב שבט תש"נ :

"והמעשה הוא העיקר"

ובפרט בקשר מיט יארצייט - כמנהג ישראל אז מ'פארבינדט דאס מיט הוספות אין ענינים של מעשה בפועל לעילוי הנשמה [וואס דורך דעם איז מען ממשיך עילוי הנשמה דא למטה...

ובנוגע לפועל: ס'איז כדאי ונכון צו פארבינדן דעם יארצייט מיט מוסיף ומרבה זיין אין אויפשטעלן מוסדות לעילוי הנשמה (בהוספה אויף די מוסדות וואס מ'האט ביז איצטער אויפגעשטעלט), כולל ובמיוחד - מוסדות געווידמעט צו די ג' מצוות הנ"ל...

און מ'וועט זוכה זיין צו מאכן "שהחיינו וקיימנו והגיענו לזמן הזה, זמן דהגאולה האמיתית והשלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו תיכף ומיד ממש.

In particular regarding a yahrzeit, in accordance with the Jewish custom of linking it with additional, concrete actions done in practice for the elevation of the soul (through which one draws down the elevation of the soul here below):

Practically speaking: it is worthwhile and proper to connect the yahrzeit with increasing and expanding the establishment of institutions in the merit of the soul (in addition to the institutions that have already been established until now), including and especially institutions devoted to the three mitzvot mentioned above.

And in particular: educational institutions for Jewish girls.

Likewise, it is worthwhile to increase and expand charitable giving in connection with the yahrzeit. It is especially good to do so in the number 470, corresponding to the gematria of the name of the departed.

And through this, one will merit to recite "Shehecheyanu, v’kiyemanu, v’higiyanu la’zman hazeh" â€" reaching this time, the time of the true and complete Redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu, immediately and literally now.
